The Wood Beaver Wengineer

I've been keeping busy with this fire wood processor. I'm currently working with a local entrepreneur who contacted me about making some production fixtures. The fixtures are another story that I'll tell ya some other time.

I was also asked if there was a way to fold that live table to a "Stow & Go" configuration that one person can set up and run it.

I must have made a good impression because here it is in action on test day.

This is the latest upgrade to Wood Beaver's 18" log processor. This unit is powered by a Kubota deisel mounted forward under the live table to better distribute the weight on the longer frame. The 200 gallon fuel transfer tank acts as ballast opposite of the log processor.

The log processor is a heavy duty version of a PTO powered unit that won it's class in the "Sawmill Shootout" competition by splitting 2.5 cords of wood in 18 minutes.

I guess you could say I dropped the fixtures for the redesign of the live table. These pictures only show the project after paint but you can see every piece I made custom "one off" w/ documentation for Resource Recovery Systems Inc.

This project was done in a week, sent to get painted black, and assembled the week after.

In light of all the destruction caused by the weather recently, I can't help but feel honored for the opportunity work my metal magic for the environment.

When I think what good a crew of just two could do w/ a skid-steer & one of these units during a tornado clean up drive, I am in awe.

Maybe I just wanna test it on the heaviest wood of the year! I'll keep ya posted on how it works, but you can find out more at www.rrsinc.net.
